I've even used it as a make shift baby monitor when coupled with my phone. I also use it without trouble to voice chat over Steam while I play games online. I recently bought a good pair of headphones for music and games, but missed the microphone of my old headset. It picks up the entire room in the direction it's pointed. I haven't had any problems with people being unable to hear me clearly.I generally keep it from 1-2 feet from my face, and it's been perfectly compatible and easy to set up in Windows 7 64bit. I settled on a desktop microphone, and I'm impressed with this one's quality. I've used it for chatting over Skype and nobody has had trouble hearing me or complained about an echo from my speakers getting picked up.
All around awesome product. I like thicker wires just because I have had headsets (not stationary mics) in the past that have had their mics die because of flimsy wires. Pros: Crystal clear. Not expensive.Cons: NoneAdditional thought: The wire could be a tad bit thicker. But the wire on this is fairly thick and because it's stationary I suspect it's must less susceptible to taking damage. Sturdy stand. Can be adjusted up and down (note when adjusting it the mic actually stays in place).

Now you just hit a big button and you're live.It's loud, it's crisp, it's clear, and at LONG ranges.My only complaint is when you first plug it in it sets it's default volume VERY low.I don't know why, you always want it jacked up. I love the desktop models now, as it's out of the way and you don't have to worry about moving wires around or having them get caught in your chair or anything of the sort. To access the volume you go toStart -> Control Panel -> Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices -> Sounds and Audio Devices -> Voice -> Volume (underneath AK5370 in Default Device) -> Slide the slider all the way up.Perfect for games, skype, etc.Thank you Logitech for yet another fantastic product. Excellent job, Logitech. This would be my 4th microphone in my endless search for the best mic out there (for an acceptable price, of course).
Occasionally the person at the other end of the phone would complain of a strong echo but I am not sure if this due to Skype or the microphone picking up sounds from the computer speakers. We have had no problems. We bought two of these microphones mostly to use with Skype. They were very easy to set up, the computers recognized them and they were working immediately.
